Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable cryptographic services for certificate lifecycle, key management, secrets, PKI, and workload identity.
- Architect and operate mission-critical crypto services with security, reliability, compliance, and multi-tenant SaaS requirements.
- Deploy, scale, and operate services on Kubernetes, including on-call and incident response responsibilities.
- Evaluate practical AI/ML applications for security use cases such as anomaly detection, certificate risk scoring, telemetry analysis, and cryptographic code review.
- Translate security and compliance requirements into working cryptographic frameworks with product, security architecture, and platform teams.
- Mentor engineers on secure coding, cryptographic pitfalls, threat modeling, and rigorous design reviews.
- Track cryptographic advancements, including post-quantum cryptography, and prepare the platform for future requirements.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Production-scale experience with Java, Go, or a comparable strongly typed language.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and distributed-systems tradeoffs.
- Production experience running services on Kubernetes in a SaaS or multi-tenant environment, including deployments and Helm.
- Working knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hashing, digital signatures, and TLS/PKI fundamentals.
- Direct experience with cryptography, PKI, key management, secrets management, certificate lifecycle systems, HSM/KMS integration, or crypto-agility work.
- Experience with regulated environments such as FIPS 140-2/3, FedRAMP, Common Criteria, or similar.
- Some hands-on AI/ML experience applying techniques to security or operations problems, or integrating LLM tooling into engineering workflows.
- Exposure to post-quantum cryptography and a record of mentoring engineers and improving team security practices.
