Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, test, and operate secure, scalable production software solutions.
- Develop high-quality production code and review and debug code written by other engineers.
- Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
- Lead evaluations of vendor and internal architectural solutions for use within existing systems and information architecture.
- Lead software engineering communities of practice and promote adoption of new technologies.
- Drive responsible team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering and automation practices.
- Define validation standards for AI-assisted outputs, including secure coding, peer review, automated testing, correctness, performance, and security.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering end-to-end production solutions across system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Python.
- Practical experience designing and operating cloud-native workloads on AWS.
- Strong AWS compute expertise with EC2, ECS/EKS, and/or Lambda, emphasizing performance, resiliency, and cost awareness.
- Knowledge of AWS networking services and concepts including VPC, subnets, security groups, NACLs, Route 53, and load balancers.
- Experience with AWS storage and data platforms including S3, EBS, EFS, RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state and locking, and workspace and environment practices.
- Experience designing CI/CD pipelines, integrating Terraform into workflows, automating validation and testing, and scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred experience with modern front-end technologies and financial services.
