Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and operate backend services for context ingestion, indexing, storage, retrieval orchestration, API access, source configuration, and system administration.
- Define and build a scalable multi-tenant SaaS foundation with tenant isolation, usage tracking, quotas, audit logs, background jobs, and reliable service boundaries.
- Develop APIs and service interfaces that enable AI agents, MCP tools, CLIs, and internal applications to retrieve context, provenance, confidence signals, and warnings.
- Make architectural and product tradeoffs as the system evolves from internal prototype and dogfooding to production-grade SaaS.
- Instrument and operate services using metrics, logs, traces, alerts, dashboards, and observability tooling.
- Contribute to architecture, service boundaries, storage decisions, API contracts, deployment patterns, and engineering practices for a new product area.
- Take ownership of AI solutions and ensure they are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with real user workflows.
Requirements
- Strong experience building production-grade, user-facing software systems and delivering software that is actively used in production.
- Practical experience with AI technologies and frameworks, including LLMs, prompt engineering, and GenAI-powered applications.
- Experience working in cloud-native environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience using observability tools to understand and troubleshoot system behavior.
- Ability to work autonomously through ambiguity, define scope, make pragmatic architectural decisions, iterate quickly, and communicate effectively across teams.
- Preferred experience with agent frameworks, multi-agent workflows, data analysis or data platforms, and tools for data engineering.
- Preferred familiarity with Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, or Databricks.
