Base Salary
$139k - $167k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and organize the autonomy program’s data lake, including schemas, partitioning, and metadata indexing
- Build and maintain reliable pipelines that ingest high-bandwidth vehicle sensor logs into cloud storage despite intermittent connectivity
- Implement data validation, integrity checks, retention, tiering, and lifecycle policies
- Develop tooling and automation for curated training and evaluation datasets, pseudo-labeling, data quality metrics, and model performance metrics
- Deploy and maintain visualization tooling, integrations, custom panels, dashboards, and log review and annotation QA workflows
- Establish data contracts and collaborate with perception, planning, and embedded engineers on logging schemas, collection triggers, and dataset interfaces
- Contribute to data engineering standards, tooling choices, the data roadmap, and technical leadership findings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of data engineering experience, or a master’s degree with 2+ years of experience
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL with experience building production-quality data pipelines
- Experience with cloud data infrastructure, preferably AWS services including S3, Glue, Athena, or Redshift, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Understanding of data partitioning strategies and columnar storage formats such as Parquet and ORC
- Experience building and operating pipelines that process time-series and binary data
- Ability to evaluate and integrate open-source tooling and implement monitoring, validation, and lineage tracking
- U.S. citizenship is required due to access to information and systems restricted under U.S. law
- Bonus: experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, sensor-driven systems, Foxglove, Rerun, MCAP, or ML training data curation
