Senior Software Engineer (Backend) - AI/ML

Base Salary
$141k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-powered features across backend services and frontend interfaces in the ClickHouse Cloud platform.
- Create scalable APIs connecting ClickHouse database capabilities with AI/ML inference systems and internal or external AI services.
- Build and maintain integrations with the broader AI/ML ecosystem, frameworks, tools, and standards.
- Integrate models into production systems with monitoring, versioning, observability, and evaluation.
- Participate in the daytime on-call rotation.
- Design and implement developer tools, SDKs, and documentation for ClickHouse AI/ML capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience in production environments.
- Backend development experience with Python, Go, or TypeScript, focused on API design and service architecture.
- Exposure to working directly with AI/ML technologies.
- Ability to own and drive features from concept to production with minimal supervision.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience integrating and deploying AI/ML models in production systems, including inference APIs and vector databases, is preferred.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP, particularly services related to AI/ML deployment, is preferred.
- Understanding of database systems and data processing pipelines is preferred; ClickHouse experience is a significant plus.
