Base Salary
$150k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate backend services and shared infrastructure for data pipelines and analytics.
- Focus on CI pipeline design, operational reliability, and cloud cost awareness.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable production code in Python.
- Collaborate with application and data engineers to define service boundaries and APIs.
- Contribute to architectural decisions emphasizing maintainability and reliability.
- Architect and operate AWS-based cloud-native systems with a focus on performance and security.
- Own the full lifecycle of platform components, including design and incident response.
- Enable and support data platforms and analytics systems through reliable backend services.
- Design systems that integrate with databases and event-driven data flows.
- Build and evolve CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure code.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, backend engineering, or related roles.
- Strong backend development experience with production services or internal platforms.
- Experience with AWS services such as VPC, IAM, EKS/ECS, RDS, and S3.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging systems preferred.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Hands-on experience with containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, Git workflows, and automated testing.
- Strong operational mindset and comfort with on-call rotations.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting technical information.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
