Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain perception capabilities across the full autonomy stack using onboard C++, sensor interfaces, and applied ML models.
- Build perception pipeline components for data ingestion, labeling, model execution, and downstream planning and controls interfaces.
- Diagnose perception failures using logs and sensor data and drive issues to root cause.
- Implement and optimize C++ modules for embedded and edge platforms with real-time performance and robust integration.
- Train, evaluate, and deploy ML models for detection, segmentation, tracking, and scene understanding.
- Refactor legacy perception components, improve interfaces, and reduce technical debt.
- Collaborate with robotics, systems, and platform teams to meet system-level requirements.
- Contribute through code reviews, design discussions, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial modern C++ work.
- Hands-on experience training, evaluating, and deploying applied machine learning models with frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Ability to work across onboard compute, middleware, and cloud-based data workflows.
- Strong debugging skills in environments involving multiple processes, sensors, and system layers.
- Experience with camera, LiDAR, or radar data and perception data pipelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field, or equivalent related work experience.
- Preferred experience with ROS 2, Jetson, ARM, x86, classical computer vision, sensor fusion, tracking algorithms, and simulation.
- Preferred familiarity with clang-tidy, ASAN, TSAN, UBSAN, Linux, CMake, Bazel, colcon, Docker, concurrency, and real-time robotics or embedded systems.
- A master’s degree and expertise in perception, machine learning, or robotics software architecture are preferred.
