Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and improve automated test cases, scenarios, regression suites, and smoke integration suites.
- Develop Python-based automated tests and maintain the Behave-based BDD test automation framework.
- Perform API, integration, end-to-end, and gRPC testing using Playwright and Python.
- Analyze failed tests, investigate root causes, and create defects when appropriate.
- Develop test clients, mocks, and supporting automation tools, including for APIs and hardware components.
- Create and maintain test data and test environments.
- Review and improve existing test automation code and assess software testability and acceptance criteria.
- Execute automated tests locally and through CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with developers, Test Automation Engineers, and Software Requirement Leads.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Python for test automation and solid experience in test automation within Agile development teams.
- Strong experience with API and integration testing, including gRPC and Protocol Buffers.
- Strong hands-on Docker experience, ideally including Docker Compose.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks.
- Good understanding of test design, regression testing, and defect analysis.
- Experience with Git-based development workflows.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with BDD/TDD, Behave, Playwright with Python, GitLab and GitLab CI/CD pipelines, service/API/hardware mocking, OPC UA, VS Code, WSL2, DevContainers, and shell scripting.
