Responsibilities
- Define, execute, and maintain automated test setups covering functional, integration, contract, performance, and load testing.
- Develop and implement quality and automation testing strategies, including suitable test data management.
- Identify effective quality assurance solutions where automation has limitations.
- Coach and guide junior Quality Engineers and help improve team expertise.
- Advance testing tools, processes, and ways of working while promoting shared quality ownership.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure feature specifications are testable and promote BDD and TDD approaches.
- Contribute across the software lifecycle from design and development through testing and deployment.
- Research, evaluate, and test new tools, processes, and approaches with Practice and Enabler teams.
- Contribute to Communities of Practice and shared quality engineering initiatives.
Requirements
- Deep, proven practical expertise in quality assurance practices, tools, and methods in agile environments at scale.
- Experience with cloud technologies and services, preferably AWS.
- Experience with the Atlassian tool set, including JIRA, Confluence, and integrations.
- Experience testing applications end to end, including RESTful services, front-end applications, and automation.
- Strong understanding of automation test strategy and the limitations of automation.
- Programming experience with TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Experience with Playwright, Playwright Test Runner, Playwright API testing, Playwright request interception, and built-in Playwright assertions.
- Experience with npm, Git, ESLint, the PageObject pattern, and SonarQube.
- Experience with performance testing in Gatling Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of functional, contract, integration, performance, and load testing.
- Practical knowledge of BDD, TDD, and software engineering practices.
- Proven ability to define and execute quality strategies at scale.
- Experience with CI/CD, preferably GitLab CI.
- Strong coaching, training, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and autonomy skills.
- Understanding of the social and ethical implications of software engineering, such as the ACM Code of Ethics.
