Responsibilities
- Develop and define solution architectures for projects and business initiatives.
- Provide architecture consultancy, technical guidance, and assurance throughout project lifecycles.
- Ensure applications and IT solutions comply with architecture standards, principles, governance requirements, and reference architectures.
- Translate business requirements and architecture guidelines into scalable, effective technology solutions.
- Identify technical challenges, recommend technologies, assess existing solutions, and support optimization and innovation initiatives.
- Document architecture decisions and reusable architecture artifacts, including required exceptions or deviations.
- Collaborate with project teams, developers, IT specialists, business stakeholders, customers, and external suppliers.
- Present recommendations to senior stakeholders, explain complex technical topics clearly, and influence decisions without formal authority.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to other technology professionals and potentially guide a small team.
- Act as a subject matter expert in discussions with suppliers, customers, and other external parties.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in solution architecture, IT architecture, or technical architecture.
- Proven experience designing and assuring complex IT or application solutions.
- Experience with architecture standards, principles, governance, and modern IT technology landscapes.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and provide clear technology recommendations.
- Experience working with senior business and technology stakeholders and advising project teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences and challenge proposed solutions when appropriate.
- A proactive approach to identifying technology optimization and innovation opportunities.
- Experience mentoring or guiding other technology professionals is a plus.
- Experience with architecture modeling and documentation tools such as IBM System Architect, PowerDesigner, and/or ProVision is an advantage.
