Responsibilities
- Wrap perception ML models for part registration, seam localization, and real-time weld tracking into reliable production services.
- Build gRPC/Protobuf interfaces with rigorous schema versioning.
- Own containerization, CUDA/PyTorch environment management, deployment infrastructure, and GPU memory budgeting.
- Build observability and telemetry pipelines connecting fleet-wide perception metrics to operator outcomes.
- Design active-learning data pipelines that ingest fleet data, support annotation, and route labeled data to training services.
- Establish software best practices through code reviews, testing harnesses, CI/CD, and mentoring mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production backend systems in Python; C++ experience is a plus.
- Expertise in software architecture, concurrency, performance, and API design.
- Deep production experience with gRPC/Protobuf services, schema evolution, and backward-compatible API contracts.
- Hands-on experience with containerized deployment, Linux, and GPU compute, including diagnosing CUDA, PyTorch, and GPU memory issues.
- Experience building developer tools, frameworks, or platforms for ML, computer vision, or research teams.
- Working knowledge of ML and computer vision workflows, including training loops, evaluation harnesses, and point clouds.
