$146k - $203k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated test frameworks, test harnesses, and validation infrastructure for large-scale distributed systems.
- Define end-to-end unit, integration, system, regression, performance, and reliability testing strategies.
- Embed testability requirements into software design and development with product and infrastructure engineering teams.
- Develop tooling and pipelines to improve test coverage, execution speed, and signal quality.
- Analyze flaky tests, test failures, and production incidents to identify systemic quality gaps and drive resolution.
- Establish testing best practices, coding standards, quality engineering patterns, quality gates, and release criteria.
- Lead technical design reviews for test infrastructure and advise peers on architecture and implementation tradeoffs.
- Build observability and reporting systems for test health, coverage, and reliability metrics.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software development engineering in test, test automation, or quality engineering roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience designing automated test frameworks and infrastructure for large-scale or distributed software systems.
- Experience with performance, load, or reliability testing methodologies and tooling.
- Experience debugging test failures and production defects through systematic root cause analysis.
- Experience influencing engineering decisions through technical proposals and cross-functional alignment.
- Preferred: experience with chaos engineering, fault injection, adversarial testing, staged rollout quality gates, or CI/CD test integration.
- Preferred: proficiency in Python, Java, C++, or Hack for test framework development.
- Preferred: experience testing highly concurrent, low-latency, or complex distributed systems.
- Preferred: familiarity with AI workflow tools, prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration, and responsible AI practices.

- Base salary of $146,000/year to $203,000/year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
