Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize high-assurance embedded software components using C++.
- Participate in design and code reviews and contribute to coding-practice, testing, and development-tool improvements.
- Support unit, integration, and team testing efforts in collaboration with partner teams.
- Work with radar, signal-processing, hardware, and software engineers to implement platform control and signal-processing functionality.
- Take ownership of assigned software components and contribute to software development practices and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science, or equivalent military or industry experience.
- At least three years of experience designing, implementing, integrating, and testing embedded software in real-time operating environments.
- Experience designing and building embedded Linux-based software applications in C++.
- Knowledge of embedded-systems debugging, troubleshooting, code testing, and test automation using Python or other scripting languages.
- Experience with Git-based version control, pull requests, code reviews, branching, and merge-conflict resolution.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests and collaborating across hardware and software teams.
- Preferred experience includes secure software development, Yocto, Bitbake, Linux administration, DevOps practices, embedded RF systems, communication protocols, systems-level programming, memory management, and concurrency.
- Experience leading small technical efforts or mentoring junior engineers is a plus.
