Base Salary
$165k - $231k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, development, production reliability, and technical standards for internal SSCD software platforms.
- Build and operate cloud-native AWS GovCloud solutions using ECS, RDS, S3, and IAM across the full deployment lifecycle.
- Develop backend services and APIs using Python for corporate development, strategy, and sales workflows.
- Create infrastructure as code and maintain reliable deployments across development and production environments.
- Design AI/LLM-powered natural-language interfaces, document processing, data extraction, and workflow automation features.
- Use AI-assisted development tools as part of the engineering workflow and apply judgment when reviewing generated code.
- Integrate enterprise knowledge management, collaboration, CRM, ERP, and data warehouse platforms into a unified operational data layer.
- Implement authentication, role-based access controls, and secure data handling for ITAR/EAR and CUI environments.
- Conduct code reviews, establish engineering standards, and maintain platform documentation.
- Support monitoring, alerting, on-call operations, and production system ownership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, physics, aerospace, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional software development and production deployment experience.
- Proficiency in at least one statically typed language, preferably Java, and one dynamically typed language such as Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience with AWS cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and IAM.
- Experience developing production applications and APIs using REST and/or GraphQL.
- Understanding of at least one modern database system, such as an RDBMS, columnar DBMS, NoSQL, or in-memory database.
- Experience developing CI/CD pipelines and using containerization technologies such as Docker and ECS/EKS.
- Experience owning production systems, including monitoring, alerting, and on-call support.
- Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or equivalent.
- Preferred experience with AI/LLM API integration, prompt engineering, tool-use patterns, streaming responses, and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Preferred experience integrating CRM, knowledge management, collaboration, ERP, and other enterprise platforms.
- Preferred full-stack development experience with modern frontend frameworks, server-side rendering, and component architecture.
- Preferred experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
- Preferred experience building internal tools, business process automation, or enterprise workflow platforms.
- Prior experience in corporate development, finance, strategy, aerospace, defense, or manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience in GovCloud or FedRAMP-compliant environments is preferred.
