Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and operate multi-step, tool-using AI agents integrated with APIs, databases, Salesforce, Slack, and other enterprise systems.
- Evaluate and implement agent orchestration patterns such as ReAct, planner-executor, and multi-agent architectures.
- Optimize agent deployments for latency, cost, scalability, and production reliability.
- Build evaluation harnesses and guardrails addressing hallucinations, model drift, and unsafe tool calls.
- Monitor production systems, lead incident handling, and contribute to post-incident reviews and root-cause analyses.
- Deliver complex software features across design, implementation, testing, review, and operations.
- Help decompose epics, define tasks, and manage dependencies with Product Managers and Scrum Masters.
- Coach engineers through pair programming and code reviews, and present work to technical and leadership audiences.
- Partner with technical writers on documentation.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on experience building and deploying LLM or agentic systems in production.
- Strong Python skills and mastery of agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, or custom-built frameworks.
- Deep understanding of prompt engineering, tool-calling and function-calling patterns, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation strategies for non-deterministic systems.
- Expertise in API integrations, asynchronous systems, distributed architectures, and modern software design patterns.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, cross-functional alignment experience, technical coaching experience, and a record of constructive code reviews.
- Preferred: experience with enterprise SaaS architectures, the Salesforce ecosystem, multi-agent coordination, or MCP.

- Base salary range of $148,500–$223,900 annually; select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan-area locations have a range of $178,900–$246,000 annually.
