Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver new features for the network security appliance stack.
- Understand end-to-end product architecture across appliances, cloud services, and the Qualys security platform.
- Read, comprehend, and review code and contribute to design discussions.
- Debug product issues reported by QA teams and customers and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with QA on feature behavior, functionality testing, performance testing, and negative scenarios.
- Document designs and test plans and communicate with engineering and QA team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or Instrumentation.
- 5 to 8 years of software development or testing experience in networking systems.
- Professional networking-product development experience, including areas such as deep packet inspection, packet parsing, kernel programming, control and data paths, kernel bypass, fast packet processing, firewalls, networking protocols, socket programming, virtualization, or hypervisors.
- Ability to write and understand C/C++ and/or Python programs.
- Interest in building a career in embedded systems and network security systems.
- Preferred: strong academic record, ability to read and interpret technical literature, and familiarity with Linux and Windows commands and related applications.
- Preferred: strong written and verbal communication skills.
