Responsibilities
- Develop and customize AOSP/AAOS Android platform software for automotive infotainment and digital cockpit systems.
- Design, code, enhance, configure, and troubleshoot Android platform components and applications across the software lifecycle.
- Develop and integrate custom Android HALs, device configurations, services, broadcast receivers, content providers, SDK extensions, and middleware.
- Implement software using C++, Java, and Kotlin, including multithreaded, IPC, service-binding, and operating-system concepts.
- Support Android version migrations, Google compliance testing, CDD certification requirements, and unit testing for developed modules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and project stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable software solutions.
- Stay current with Android platform technologies and resolve complex technical issues.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of professional experience is required; the posting also cites three-plus years of Android platform experience.
- In-depth AOSP/AAOS and Android Framework experience, including Android customization and automotive platform development.
- Advanced proficiency in C++ 11, 14, and 17, with working knowledge of Core Java, Java/Kotlin, Linux, Android NDK, and Android OS concepts.
- Experience with custom Android HALs, AIDL/HIDL, device configuration, Android services, broadcast receivers, content providers, SDK add-ons, and middleware.
- Knowledge of Android version migrations, multithreaded programming, IPC, service binding, thread handling, solid principles, design patterns, and MVVM.
- Experience with Git, Gerrit, GitHub, unit testing, and Google compliance testing such as CTS and VTS.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field, with 15 years of full-time education.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, understand complex systems, learn new technologies, and collaborate effectively with teams.
- Preferred experience with automotive media and phone applications, navigation, home-screen customization, cloud communication, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, CAN integration, object-oriented design patterns, Android components, Jetpack, and AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot.
