Responsibilities
- Design and develop Flight Management Systems software based on legacy NGFMS functionality for Honeywell NGA products.
- Perform software architecture design and embedded C++ coding using object-oriented development practices.
- Create software test cases from system and software requirements.
- Perform software development, testing, and DO-178B/C and DO-331 certification activities.
- Apply avionics architecture and product-line architecture knowledge, including Honeywell EPIC and APEX products.
- Use IBM Rational DOORS NG for requirements management and Atlassian JIRA for change management.
- Support internal customer and team meetings, complete tasks on schedule, and communicate program status and roadblocks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in software development and testing.
- Experience with DO-178B/C and avionics certification activities; knowledge and experience with Aero Process are required.
- Understanding of avionics software architecture and Honeywell EPIC and APEX product-line architecture.
- Experience with embedded C++, object-oriented development, and software development lifecycle practices.
- NGFMS software development experience is preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively on local and global teams.
