Responsibilities
- Automate and build production runtime environments and connect application teams with platform teams.
- Validate solutions and implementations against assigned tasks and business requirements.
- Independently identify and solve business problems, including developing small components without explicit architecture diagrams.
- Understand and integrate medium-level tasks into cohesive platform capabilities.
- Estimate time and effort for medium-sized tasks to support project planning and resource allocation.
- Own the bridge between application development teams and the production environment.
- Advocate platform best practices and facilitate communication across application and platform teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar system architecture and development role.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Google Cloud, Docker, cloud-native technologies, distributed architectures, containerization, cloud services, and everything-as-code.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Ansible, with basic shell scripting knowledge.
- Proficiency with YAML and familiarity with continuous delivery, monitoring, performance instrumentation, and complex enterprise environments.
- Experience with security automation, API Security, Container Security, Cloud Security, and architecture security design.
- Experience debugging systems, reading and writing code, and working independently with strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience collaborating on cross-functional teams using an Agile framework in a remote environment.
- Secret Clearance is required.
- DoD 8570 IAT II certification is required.
- Department of Defense experience, specifically working on a production Authority to Operate system, is preferred.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps, DevOps, and CI/CD theory.
