Responsibilities
- Design and maintain systems governing human and service access to AWS infrastructure.
- Manage and scale Teleport infrastructure for servers, databases, and Kubernetes clusters.
- Develop AWS IAM workflows and implement automated JIT access and authorization solutions.
- Maintain Terraform infrastructure for access-related components and integrate security policies into cloud provisioning.
- Support audits by providing technical evidence, identifying access-control gaps, and driving remediation initiatives.
- Create monitoring and alerting for access patterns and resolve authentication and authorization issues.
- Lead technical projects and discussions, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and improve team tooling, code quality, security awareness, and monitoring.
- Track incidents, generate follow-up learnings, and address architectural and technical debt.
Requirements
- Production expertise with AWS, including IAM, Organizations, and multi-account security.
- Hands-on experience with access-management tools, preferably Teleport or comparable PAM/JIT solutions.
- Strong Terraform experience managing cloud resources and security policies.
- Solid understanding of Linux systems and networking fundamentals, including OIDC, SAML, SSH, TLS, and TCP/IP.
- Programming experience in Go and/or Python for automating security workflows.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks and the ability to translate audit requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes from an access and RBAC perspective.
- Ability to lead technical projects independently, communicate with engineering audiences, mentor engineers, and work autonomously.
- Proactive, security-focused approach to complex permission issues and production incidents.
