Responsibilities
- Lead the definition and execution of key strategic engineering initiatives.
- Build and maintain both back-end and front-end systems across ideation, prototyping, design, and implementation.
- Contribute to technical architecture, scalability, availability, performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Assess project progress, risks, and challenges for engineering leadership to guide prioritization and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, researchers, data analysts, and technical leaders to deliver customer value.
- Hire, coach, mentor, and support the career development of other engineers.
- Raise technical standards and support incremental continuous deployment and feature-flagged releases.
Requirements
- Significant demonstrated impact on products and/or engineering teams.
- Deep knowledge of a high-level programming language such as Ruby, Python, or Perl.
- Experience with distributed systems.
- At least 2 years of experience as the primary technical leader for a team.
- Experience collaborating with technical leaders, product teams, and designers, with a proven record of delivering value to customers or users.
- Ideally, experience building and operating a SaaS product.
