Responsibilities
- Own a strategic merchant’s technical success as their primary engineering contact.
- Translate ambiguous merchant business needs into clear technical plans and solution designs.
- Write and review production code in Razorpay systems and, where permitted, merchant repositories.
- Build custom flows, SDK integrations, orchestration logic, and server-to-server hooks.
- Use coding, knowledge, and routing AI agents to accelerate development and incident triage.
- Identify reusable patterns across merchants and feed them back to product teams.
- Maintain regular merchant communication and acknowledge merchant-raised issues within two hours.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience for senior-level candidates; exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered.
- Strong hands-on coding ability in Python and at least one of Java, Go, or TypeScript.
- Production-grade software development and demonstrated end-to-end ownership of shipped work.
- Experience with APIs, webhooks, integration patterns, cloud environments, and debugging distributed systems.
- Fluency with AI coding tools and agents, with daily practical usage.
- Hands-on solutions architect or data/ML engineering experience with real shipping experience.
- Ability to explain complex systems to non-technical merchant leaders and work effectively with ambiguity.
- Payments-flow experience is a strong plus.
