Responsibilities
- Establish and communicate the technical vision for Foreign Exchange technology platforms.
- Lead architecture and design decisions across trading, pricing, execution, settlement, and downstream integrations.
- Own the design, build, and run lifecycle of squad-supported applications and services.
- Drive platform modernization, cloud adoption, infrastructure refreshes, automation, and technical debt reduction.
- Improve platform availability, observability, MTTR, MTBF, incident reduction, release success, and service-level adherence.
- Lead root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions for production issues.
- Set engineering standards and conduct design, code, and architecture reviews.
- Coach and mentor Platform Engineers across experience levels.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for vendor platforms and coordinate issue resolution with third-party providers.
- Lead large-scale technical initiatives through deployment and provide technical guidance during planning and roadmap reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of technology experience supporting complex enterprise platforms.
- 5+ years in a senior engineering, lead engineer, solution architect, or technical leadership role.
- Strong experience supporting mission-critical production systems.
- Experience with financial services, Capital Markets, Foreign Exchange, Treasury, or Trading technologies.
- Experience leading architecture and engineering decisions across multiple applications and teams.
- Expertise in application support, release management, production stability, and operational excellence.
- Preferred experience with FX, Trading, Market Risk, Treasury, or Capital Markets platforms.
- Preferred experience with WallStreet Systems, Caplin, Aphelion or replacement FX platforms, Bloomberg integrations, and market data systems.
- Preferred experience with cloud technologies, platform modernization, vendor management, and AI-enabled engineering tools.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Site Reliability Engineering, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
