Responsibilities
- Own production architecture for orchestrated data and NLP pipelines, AI/ML integrations, CI/CD, observability, and cloud/on-premises deployment.
- Drive the engineering roadmap while balancing speed, quality, security, and customer requirements.
- Develop and validate the first production slice hands-on, including infrastructure and security design.
- Hire, build, and manage the engineering team as the company scales.
- Set architecture direction, enforce engineering standards, and foster a healthy team culture.
- Collaborate with founders and users in an onsite team.
Requirements
- Strong Python skills and production-quality engineering habits, including automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and data/model drift monitoring.
- Production experience building and operating data-intensive or NLP systems involving ingestion, deduplication, entity resolution, asynchronous queue processing, and orchestrated pipelines.
- Solid PostgreSQL experience plus experience with graph databases, vector stores, or search engines.
- Experience with embeddings, vector search, and language-model integrations, including cost, versioning, and non-determinism management.
- Ability to work across the full stack, including clean APIs and functional analyst-facing UIs using React, Vue, or similar technologies.
- Willingness and eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
- Prior early-stage startup experience and spoken and written German language skills.
- Bonus experience acquiring and ingesting discourse data from platforms and the open web at scale, with awareness of legal and ethical constraints.
- Bonus experience packaging systems for customer-hosted deployment using Docker and Kubernetes/Helm.
