Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend features using Java and Node.js.
- Participate in software architecture and system design discussions.
- Perform software analysis, development, testing, and debugging.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve production and non-production issues.
- Provide technical recommendations on supported technologies and services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- More than 7 years of backend software engineering experience with strong Java expertise.
- Strong experience with AWS services, especially EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS, and RDS.
- Hands-on experience with Redis and GraphQL API creation and integration.
- Proficiency with Docker and containerized development workflows.
- Strong backend development skills in Java and Node.js.
- Deep understanding of Java concurrency and multithreading.
- Proficiency with Spring, Hibernate, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns.
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
- Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests.
- Proficiency with Git and modern version-control workflows.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, communicate effectively, accept feedback, and support continuous improvement.
- Experience with video streaming technologies is an asset.
- Bilingualism is an asset; English is required to support and serve customers outside the province.
