Base Salary
$135k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop highly reliable software solutions used across SpaceX.
- Create applications that improve SpaceX operations and employee experience.
- Build prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
- Own all aspects of software engineering and product development.
- Analyze user problems and create efficient solutions.
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Profile and improve application performance.
- Support software testing, integration, builds, deployments, and monitoring.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a scientific discipline, or at least 2 years of professional software-building experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 1 year of full-stack development experience.
- Preferred experience with Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or a similar object-oriented language.
- Preferred rigorous experience building single-page web applications.
- Preferred experience with version control, continuous integration and delivery, software system design, testing, build and deployment processes, and monitoring.
- Preferred experience with build systems, package management, UNIX-like systems, infrastructure management, in-stream data processing, Docker, Kubernetes, front-end JavaScript frameworks, and relational databases.
- Applicants must meet applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.

- May require extended hours or weekends depending on launch cadence.
- Base salary range is $135,000.00–$160,000.00 per year for Software Engineer Level I and $155,000.00–$185,000.00 per year for Level II.
