Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain performance test scripts and scenarios.
- Build workload models that represent production traffic patterns and user behavior.
- Define performance test objectives, entry and exit criteria, and service level objectives.
- Execute baseline, load, stress, soak, spike, and scalability tests.
- Analyze results, identify bottlenecks and regressions, and document recommendations.
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and architects on performance remediation.
- Maintain performance test environments, test data, documentation, test plans, and results archives.
- Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.
- Configure monitoring dashboards and alert thresholds using observability platforms.
- Triage performance defects and contribute to root cause analysis.
- Use AI-assisted tooling and AIOps platforms for anomaly detection, intelligent baselining, trend analysis, and regression prediction.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of hands-on experience in performance testing or performance engineering.
- Experience writing and maintaining performance test scripts with k6, Gatling, JMeter, or an equivalent tool.
- Understanding of load, stress, soak, spike, and scalability testing and how to apply each type.
- Experience building workload models from production metrics and testing web applications and APIs under realistic concurrency.
- Proficiency with application performance monitoring tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus, or AppDynamics.
- Ability to interpret test results and thread or heap dumps, identify bottlenecks, and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Scripting or programming proficiency in Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Java, or Groovy.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts for testing, including anomaly detection, intelligent baselining, AIOps, or LLM-assisted diagnostics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present findings and drive engineering discussions.
