Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain performance test scripts and scenarios using tools like k6, Gatling, or JMeter.
- Build and maintain realistic workload models that represent production traffic patterns.
- Define and document performance test objectives and service level objectives (SLOs).
- Execute various test types including load, stress, and scalability tests.
- Analyze test results to identify bottlenecks and produce actionable findings.
- Collaborate with developers and QA engineers to support remediation efforts.
- Set up and maintain performance test environments and test data.
- Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.
- Define monitoring dashboards and alert thresholds using observability platforms.
- Triage performance-related defects and contribute to root cause analysis.
- Maintain performance test documentation and results archives.
- Leverage AI-assisted tooling for automated anomaly detection and result analysis.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of hands-on experience in performance testing or engineering.
- Practical experience with performance testing tools like k6, Gatling, or JMeter.
- Solid understanding of various performance test types and their applications.
- Experience defining workload models based on production metrics.
- Proficiency with application performance monitoring tools like Datadog or Grafana.
- Ability to interpret test results and communicate findings clearly.
- Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Scripting or programming skills in languages like Python or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts applied to testing.
- Experience testing web applications and APIs under realistic concurrency.
