Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications for aerospace systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
- Develop and support embedded software using C++.
- Follow software lifecycle processes and guidelines for projects assigned to DO-178.
- Conduct software integration, testing, debugging, and quality validation.
- Support software architecture, common-core software approaches, and hardware architecture evaluations.
- Support and lead aerospace certification activities including TSO, STC, and Type Certification.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in software engineering or development.
- Expertise in embedded C/C++ engineering and design in an aerospace or avionics environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is valued.
- Experience with software integration and testing, TAWS or EGPWS, and aerospace standards such as DO-178B/C and DO-160 is preferred.
- Experience with avionics development tools including Jira, Bitbucket, DOORS, CC/CQ, and TeamCenter is preferred.
- Software architecture experience and familiarity with common-core software approaches are preferred.
- Understanding of hardware architecture and the ability to consult on hardware options are preferred.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to engineering and business stakeholders.
- Self-motivation, initiative, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Must meet U.S. Person or export-authorization requirements.
