Base Salary
$94k - $198k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex frontend and backend web applications for DHS C3 investigative operations.
- Develop custom applications, tools, sites, APIs, microservices, and integrations with investigative systems.
- Build applications for dark web and anonymized environments using technologies such as Tor while maintaining operational security.
- Write maintainable Python and JavaScript code and implement responsive interfaces with React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Develop server-side applications using Express.js, Django, Flask, Node.js, or Java.
- Design and optimize relational database schemas and SQL queries.
- Maintain and deploy applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Git, GitHub, and deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate with data scientists, infrastructure engineers, and cybersecurity specialists.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.
- Document software architecture, APIs, and technical specifications.
- Support the software lifecycle from requirements gathering through production deployment and meet federal security and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of full stack development experience delivering production applications.
- At least 2 years of experience developing dark web applications using technologies such as Tor.
- At least 4 years of experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js and strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills.
- At least 4 years of backend development experience with Python, Node.js, or Java.
- Experience with RESTful API design, microservices architecture, relational databases, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL query optimization.
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience deploying applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, web security, secure coding, and anonymization technologies.
- Willingness and ability to work onsite in Fairfax, Virginia.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a DHS background investigation are required.
- A master’s degree, experience integrating AI/ML models into web applications, and knowledge of TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn are preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are preferred.
