Base Salary
$94k - $198k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex full stack web applications for DHS C3 investigative operations.
- Develop custom applications, tools, sites, RESTful APIs, and microservices using frontend and backend technologies.
- Build solutions for dark web and anonymized environments using technologies such as Tor while maintaining operational security.
- Write maintainable Python and JavaScript/TypeScript code and implement responsive interfaces with modern frameworks.
- Develop server-side applications using Express.js, Django, Flask, Node.js, or Java.
- Design and optimize relational database schemas and integrate applications with existing systems and APIs.
- Maintain and deploy applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Git, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with data scientists, infrastructure engineers, and cybersecurity specialists.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Document software architecture, APIs, and technical specifications and support the software lifecycle through production deployment.
- Ensure applications meet federal security and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of full stack development experience delivering production applications.
- At least 2 years of experience developing dark web applications using technologies such as Tor.
- At least 4 years of experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js and strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills.
- At least 4 years of backend development experience with Python, Node.js, or Java.
- Experience with RESTful API design, microservices architecture, relational databases, SQL query optimization, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, web security, secure coding, and anonymization technologies.
- Willingness and ability to work onsite in Fairfax, Virginia.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a DHS background investigation, including checks related to felony convictions, illegal drug use, and misconduct such as theft or fraud.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, experience integrating AI/ML models into web applications, and knowledge of TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and AI model deployment.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
