Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded firmware in C for machine vision camera platforms.
- Build low-level drivers and board-support functionality for FPGA-hosted processors.
- Define processor-to-FPGA interfaces, including register maps, DMA paths, and interrupts.
- Develop and maintain GenICam, GigE Vision, USB3 Vision, and related interface stacks.
- Optimize real-time performance, memory usage, and streaming throughput.
- Support board bring-up, debugging, and firmware releases.
- Investigate customer-reported issues and platform-level technical challenges.
- Collaborate with FPGA, hardware, manufacturing, and test teams.
- Lead technical reviews, contribute to project planning, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- Expert embedded C development and working knowledge of C++.
- Experience with RTOS, bare-metal, interrupt-driven, and DMA-based system design.
- Experience with firmware-to-FPGA interfacing and communication protocols such as Ethernet and USB.
- Experience debugging hardware using schematics, datasheets, and oscilloscopes.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and strong communication skills.
- 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, 6+ years with a master's degree, or 3+ years with a PhD.
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with Xilinx or Intel FPGAs, machine vision standards, embedded Linux, image processing, scripting, or FPGA development is advantageous.
