Responsibilities
- Provide authoritative technical guidance and architectural direction to stakeholders, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Design, engineer, and deploy end-to-end workflow automation solutions and AI/ML pipelines.
- Develop, review, debug, and optimize secure, high-quality production code using AI-assisted development practices.
- Drive architectural decisions for product design, application functionality, technical operations, and Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in AWS cloud architecture, MLOps, workflow orchestration, and intelligent automation.
- Define and enforce practices for CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, model lifecycle management, and automated testing.
- Champion AWS Well-Architected principles, Terraform module reuse, responsible AI/ML governance, and firmwide engineering frameworks.
- Evaluate and adopt LLMs, agentic AI frameworks, and cloud-native automation services.
- Scale enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering and SDLC/TLM automation practices across multiple teams, including measurable quality, throughput, reliability, validation, security, resiliency, and reuse standards.
- Lead governance and ways of working for AI-assisted development tools, including human-in-the-loop validation, quality gates, and secure handling of sensitive inputs and outputs.
- Coach managers and leads and influence leaders on responsible AI use and safe scaling patterns.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, operational stability, and production-grade AI/ML and automation solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in Python.
- Advanced knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and tooling and their operationalization in cloud environments.
- Deep expertise in AWS services for automation and AI/ML workloads, including Step Functions, Lambda, ECS/EKS, SageMaker, Bedrock, Glue, EventBridge, and IAM.
- Proficiency with Terraform, including module development, state management, and multi-environment deployment patterns.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development workflows, including evaluating, governing, and scaling AI coding tools.
- Ability to independently solve complex design and functionality problems with minimal oversight and drive solutions from ambiguous requirements to production.
- Practical cloud-native experience with security, scalability, resilience, and cost optimization in AWS.
- Experience leading multi-team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools and measuring outcomes.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, resiliency, security, and control expectations.
- Preferred familiarity with SQL, Bash, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Preferred hands-on development experience in Java or Golang.
