Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams, including architecture, technology direction, platform roadmaps, and shared-services strategy.
- Develop cloud-based solutions using multiple programming languages, databases, container orchestration services, and AWS tools.
- Mentor engineers, support professional development, and participate in internal and external technology communities.
- Lead architectural design reviews, establish coding standards and design patterns, and influence enterprise-wide technology strategy.
- Build and scale data pipelines for ML models and apply observability and reliability practices to distributed systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 9+ years coding with more than two listed programming languages and 5+ years with open source frameworks, front-end frameworks, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, or related engineering practices.
- Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, cloud troubleshooting, observability, reliability, and performance optimization.
- Preferred: experience mentoring senior engineers, leading architectural reviews, influencing technology strategy, and leading cross-functional or large-scale technical initiatives.
- Preferred: experience developing ML solutions and designing complex data pipelines for ML models using Java, Python, Angular, or React.
- Experience with modern AI-based coding tools, IDE copilots, and interactive AI productivity tooling.

- Full-time annual salary range for McLean, Virginia is $229,900-$262,400; the role may also include performance-based incentive compensation.
