Responsibilities
- Partner with product and executive leadership to inform and implement company strategy.
- Translate ambiguous requirements from internal stakeholders into concrete, actionable plans.
- Deliver code and product features as a hands-on contributor.
- Drive technical strategy and architecture across all engineering domains.
- Champion operational excellence, reliability, quality, and continuous risk reduction.
- Document and oversee engineering standards.
- Own the product’s security and compliance posture, including SOC 2, data integrity, and potential GxP/21 CFR Part 11 considerations.
- Mentor and develop engineering staff through relevant training, conferences, and events.
- Interview, hire, and help raise the technical bar as the team scales.
- Represent engineering with customers and internal and external stakeholders.
- Use current technologies to inform the technical and product roadmap and educate internal stakeholders about their application.
Requirements
- 12+ years of engineering experience.
- Proven track record architecting, scaling, and maintaining complex, scaled systems.
- Experience with systems serving large numbers of users where quality, security, and reliability are critical.
- Polyglot mastery and ability to learn new languages and architectures.
- Proficiency with TypeScript, React, and NodeJS.
- Proficiency with Rust, or alternatively Go or C++.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services and Azure, or equivalent cloud platforms.
- Experience with GitHub Actions or an equivalent CI/CD tool.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code solutions such as Terraform or Pulumi.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or another relevant field is preferred.
- Ability to apply current technologies to product and technical strategy.
