Base Salary
$200k - $350k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define long-term technical architecture for the product platform.
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of backend services, APIs, and databases.
- Drive engineering standards, reliability, scalability, monitoring, and observability.
- Partner with engineering leadership on technical strategy and roadmap planning.
- Mentor senior engineers and improve engineering practices across teams.
- Build and extend data pipelines supporting AI agents and research workflows.
- Implement automated testing and reliability practices to support system uptime.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and research teams to ship AI-driven features and services.
Requirements
- Typically 10+ years of software engineering experience with exposure to backend and frontend development.
- Strong experience with at least one backend language such as Python or Node.js; Python is required for the interview process.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs, including FastAPI and REST; GraphQL is a plus.
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React or Next.js and modern web development practices.
- Working knowledge of relational or document databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and basic automated testing.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with data-heavy systems, scientific tooling, ML/AI-adjacent platforms, startups, or small teams with end-to-end ownership.
