Base Salary
$197k - $345k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate reliable, scalable data infrastructure for analytics, ML, and data-driven decision-making.
- Serve as the directly responsible individual for multiple core analytics and data infrastructure services, including Pinot, Trino, Airflow, Spark on Kubernetes, EMR, and Hive Metastore.
- Improve infrastructure security, cost efficiency, developer experience, reliability, observability, monitoring, and alerting.
- Build automation and self-service tools that help data teams adopt and manage workflows.
- Collaborate with data engineering, platform, and security teams to create scalable and well-governed solutions.
- Define technical standards, best practices, and support models with staff and senior engineers.
- Mentor and coach engineers while modeling ownership, collaboration, and operational excellence.
- Build, manage, and integrate agentic workflows, custom AI skills, automated software factory pipelines, and MCP.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience, including experience supporting data-intensive systems or data platforms.
- Experience building, deploying, and operating distributed infrastructure at scale.
- Strong background with big data and infrastructure technologies such as EMR, Airflow, Pinot, Trino, Hive Metastore, Kubernetes, or equivalent systems.
- Proficiency in Python, Golang, Bash, and SQL.
- Proficiency with GitHub Actions, Vault, Terraform, Chef, and Grafana.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure reliability, observability, and cost-efficiency principles.
- Hands-on experience supporting data pipelines or data engineering workflows is a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience building, managing, and integrating agentic workflows, custom AI skills, automated software factory pipelines, and MCP.
- Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, ownership, and autonomous execution skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
