Responsibilities
- Work with developers to solve complex problems and provide elegant solutions to Clio customers.
- Build and improve web applications using Ruby on Rails in a large-scale SaaS environment.
- Collaborate with full-stack developers and engineering teams across Canada, the United States, and Ireland.
- Review and provide constructive feedback on code within the team and across Clio.
- Diagnose, understand, and solve problems with teams across Clio, including solutions spanning multiple areas.
- Mentor teammates, share knowledge, learn from feedback, and help improve engineering practices.
Requirements
- Experience in software development, specifically building web applications at scale with Ruby on Rails.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work effectively in an evolving environment with distributed teams and customers.
- Demonstrated success mentoring software developers, particularly in Agile environments and large-scale SaaS products.
- Broad technical knowledge and experience solving complex technical problems.
- A history of software projects, including notable successes and lessons learned.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build high-trust relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Interest in improving software development craft through the use of AI.
- Experience with Ruby is helpful, but developers from Java, Python, C#, and JavaScript backgrounds are supported in learning Ruby.
