Responsibilities
- Design and develop real-time embedded firmware in C, including low-level drivers and control logic for complex hardware blocks.
- Own PCIe firmware features including link training, enumeration, error handling, and recovery.
- Develop and debug firmware in pre-silicon emulation and lead post-silicon bring-up and debugging in the lab.
- Diagnose complex PCIe and system-level issues with architecture, design, validation, and customer teams.
- Develop and extend the company SDK alongside firmware features.
- Support customer requests and adapt firmware and SDK development to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience as a firmware engineer.
- Proven experience developing and debugging embedded and real-time firmware.
- Strong C programming skills on resource-constrained, bare-metal, or RTOS-based systems.
- Understanding of processor architecture, memory-mapped registers, interrupts, and hardware/software interaction.
- Expert-level PCIe knowledge including LTSSM, link training, enumeration, configuration space, AER, and reset and recovery flows.
- Experience using PCIe protocol analyzers and exercisers such as Teledyne LeCroy and Keysight.
- Hands-on pre-silicon and post-silicon firmware development and debugging experience, including new SoC silicon bring-up.
- Strong real-hardware debugging skills using JTAG debuggers, logs, and register-level analysis.
- Broad understanding of interactions among silicon, firmware, SDK, host software, and platforms, with the ability to translate customer requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across sites and teams.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ownership in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
