Responsibilities

Own software features from design and scoping through deployment, production support, and incident follow-up.
Build responsive React frontends with reusable components, state management, routing, and code-splitting.
Develop FastAPI/Python backend services and REST/async APIs with authentication, authorization, validation, pagination, and error handling.
Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, indexes, queries, and PostGIS geospatial workloads.
Deploy and operate services on AWS using managed services, containers, and infrastructure-as-code.
Investigate performance issues across frontend rendering, API latency, caching, and database queries.
Write automated tests, contribute to CI/CD, implement monitoring and alerting, and participate in on-call responsibilities.
Participate in technical proposals, design reviews, sprint planning, retrospectives, code reviews, onboarding, and cross-functional communication.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
3–6 years of software development experience, including shipping and supporting services in production.
Experience building and operating web applications at scale with attention to availability, latency, and failure handling.
Strong full-stack skills with React, FastAPI/Python, and PostgreSQL.
Hands-on experience building applications on AWS, including compute, storage, networking, managed databases, and containers.
Working knowledge of API design, relational databases, caching, and asynchronous patterns.
Fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, testing, CI/CD, and observability.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work through ambiguity with team support.
Preferred exposure to GIS and geospatial technologies including PostGIS, GeoJSON, Shapefile, KML, GeoParquet, STAC, GDAL, Rasterio, GeoPandas, and Shapely.
Preferred familiarity with Mapbox, MapLibre, Leaflet, Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Apache Iceberg, containers, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AI/LLM application patterns such as RAG, tool calling, prompt engineering, and agentic workflows.
