Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve backend services supporting order intake, validation, execution, status updates, and post-trade processing.
- Develop and operate scalable, observable, high-availability services using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.
- Design APIs and service boundaries for distributed, event-driven trading systems and integrate with internal platforms and external trading venues.
- Translate complex trading workflows into resilient software models using Domain-Driven Design.
- Own services from idea through production, including architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Design and operate persistence solutions for backend services, including relational and NoSQL databases.
- Improve reliability, automation, observability, developer experience, and operational processes while maintaining correctness, performance, security, and auditability.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, risk, and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- A university degree in computer science, engineering, or a comparable qualification.
- Strong professional experience building production backend services with Kotlin or Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and operating distributed, event-driven, high-availability systems with clear API and service boundaries.
- Solid understanding of Domain-Driven Design and complex business workflow modeling.
- Experience with latency-sensitive, high-throughput systems, including performance analysis, monitoring, capacity planning, and failure-mode design.
- Experience designing, operating, and optimizing PostgreSQL/MySQL and NoSQL persistence such as DynamoDB.
- A strong engineering-quality mindset focused on clean, secure, testable, documented, and maintainable code.
- Familiarity with cloud-native development and operations, ideally including AWS, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability tooling.
- Strong analytical and communication skills for working with technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience designing and operating gRPC services and protobuf-based APIs is a plus.
- Experience with financial-market systems requiring strict operational controls and auditability is a strong plus.
