Responsibilities
- Architect and lead development of one or more major platform areas in Coupa’s globally scaling SaaS products.
- Design and implement AI features using large language models and custom AI gateways.
- Partner with Product, Design, Enterprise Architecture, customer support, and professional services teams to deliver features and resolve escalated production issues.
- Optimize performance, simplify system code, and improve CI/CD pipelines.
- Make technical decisions with minimal direction, guide a globally distributed team, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, operations research, or a closely related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- 8+ years of industry experience developing web applications or platforms, including 1–2 years acting as a pod or technical lead.
- Experience deploying production AI and/or optimization models in commercial environments.
- Strong proficiency in .NET Core/.NET 8+, Python, C#, Groovy, and Java, plus experience using AI assistants.
- Knowledge of computation complexity, advanced data structures, and algorithmic design.
- Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical decision-making abilities.
- Preferred: supply chain network design or large language model expertise; mathematical MIP/MILP and AI/ML model experience; Gurobi or other commercial mathematical solvers; cloud-native microservices; large-scale relational and NoSQL databases; and enterprise message brokers.
