Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Own end-to-end technical solution delivery across multiple workstreams, balancing scalability, security, reliability, maintainability, cost, risk, and operational supportability.
  • Define technical architecture, engineering standards, design patterns, development practices, technical roadmaps, and modernization opportunities.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and lead technical planning, estimation, architecture reviews, and implementation strategies.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, engineers, and managed service partners.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex technical challenges, production incidents, and architecture decisions, including leading root cause analysis and preventive improvements.
  • Review application designs, code, infrastructure components, and deployment strategies for quality, security, compliance, and organizational standards.
  • Drive adoption of DevSecOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, observability, monitoring, alerting, HA/DR, and performance practices.
  • Design and implement API, event-driven, and enterprise integration solutions across internal and external platforms.
  • Lead technical discussions with business stakeholders, vendors, architects, and leadership while defining milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of software engineering or related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture, and React and/or Angular.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform, and strong experience with Kubernetes, preferably GKE.
  • Experience with cloud-native application development, container orchestration, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Concourse, ArgoCD, and Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience with API management and integration platforms such as Apigee and other enterprise integration platforms.
  • Strong understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, API security, and authentication and authorization models.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, BigQuery, relational and NoSQL databases, data integration, and analytics platforms.
  • Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger, API lifecycle management, automated testing frameworks, observability, and monitoring tools.
  • Experience working in regulated environments such as healthcare, pharmacy, or financial services, with understanding of HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, SSDLC, risk, and compliance controls.
  • Experience leading cloud migration and modernization initiatives and building enterprise integration platforms and API ecosystems.
  • Ability to lead complex projects of large scope, independently determine approaches, recommend new practices, and mentor less experienced colleagues.
