Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable Java-based microservices and APIs for catalog and metadata-driven platform capabilities.
- Build and optimize Airflow DAGs for metadata ingestion, enrichment, and workflow orchestration at scale.
- Implement Collibra integrations for metadata governance, lineage, and catalog standardization.
- Develop MCP tools and AI integration layers for intelligent and automated data discovery.
- Use Groovy and automation frameworks to improve metadata processing and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver MSCI Data Marketplace capabilities and drive adoption.
- Build fault-tolerant, high-performance systems that improve metadata quality, data discoverability, and AI readiness.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of software development experience with strong expertise in Java and backend service development.
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Airflow for scalable data pipelines and workflow orchestration.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with modern data platforms.
- Understanding of metadata management, data modeling, and data governance concepts.
- Familiarity with Groovy or similar scripting and automation technologies.
- Experience with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows.
- Ability to own end-to-end system design, development, and delivery.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on data quality, reliability, and scalability.
- Preferred experience with Collibra or similar data catalog and governance platforms.
- Preferred exposure to AI/ML concepts, LLMs, AI-assisted development tools, agentic AI workflows, MCP tools, or AI-driven data discovery.
- Preferred familiarity with Azure or GCP, modern data infrastructure, data lineage, enterprise data governance, and financial, reference, or market data ecosystems.
