Responsibilities
- Lead the logical and physical architecture of large-scale database schemas.
- Establish and maintain global SQL coding standards and naming conventions.
- Develop advanced T-SQL stored procedures, user-defined functions, triggers, and dynamic SQL.
- Architect, test, and deploy enterprise SSIS packages for ingestion, cleansing, and multi-source transformation.
- Implement error handling, logging, alerts, and transactional checkpoints in ETL packages.
- Automate workflow scheduling using SQL Server Agent or enterprise schedulers.
- Perform query performance tuning using SQL Profiler, execution plans, and index analysis.
- Troubleshoot production bottlenecks, deadlocks, and resource contention.
- Lead schema migrations, database upgrades, and high-availability disaster recovery layouts.
- Mentor junior database engineers.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of hands-on production SQL development and RDBMS architecture experience.
- At least 10 years of specialized experience building enterprise data pipelines with Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS.
- Expert-level mastery of Microsoft SQL Server, including enterprise editions from 2016 through recent versions.
- Deep proficiency in advanced T-SQL, including window functions, CTEs, and structural optimization.
- Advanced SSIS architecture experience, including custom script components and data-flow performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of ACID properties, concurrency controls, and transaction isolation levels.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical field.
- Preferred experience with SSRS or Power BI for enterprise analytics reports or dashboards.
- Preferred exposure to Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, or AWS data ecosystems.
- Preferred experience with Python, C#.NET, or PowerShell for data automation.
- Preferred experience working within Agile or Scrum frameworks.
