Software Engineer
Ford MotorResponsibilities
- Develop, enhance, maintain, and provide production support for Retail and Lease Securitization applications.
- Work with Global Securitization Partners and Product Managers to translate product vision into practical engineering backlogs and user stories.
- Analyze and resolve application issues and design corrections or enhancements based on requirements.
- Develop and execute unit test plans and scripts to validate assigned modules.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, generate options, and balance delivery speed with technical quality.
- Participate in rotational on-call support.
- Lead assignments with minimal direction and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Develop product expertise and deliver customer value within an autonomous Product Driven Organization team.
- Champion AI-based tools to accelerate workflows and automate legacy code analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 13 years of experience with COBOL, JCL, CA7, DB2/SQL, IBM File Manager, and debugger tools.
- At least 1 year of experience with Ford Credit Securitization systems.
- Experience applying AI-based tools to automate workflows.
- Experience with business systems analysis, process documentation, and workflow optimization.
- Preferred experience with agile methodology, Product Driven Organization teams, and JIRA or similar tools.
- Strong advanced SQL and relational database experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, independence, multitasking, innovation, and results-oriented skills.
