Base Salary

$115k - $193k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy secure, scalable backend microservices using Kotlin or Java and Spring Boot.
  • Build high-volume IoT ingestion pipelines and APIs that process telemetry data from connected vehicles.
  • Write clean, well-tested code and manage CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments on GCP.
  • Partner with product managers and UI/UX designers to design developer-friendly APIs using OpenAPI standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis, proactive defect prevention, and continuous operational improvement.
  • Conduct code reviews, share architectural best practices, and mentor and onboard newer team members.
  • Influence system architecture, technical direction, and product strategy within a collaborative cross-functional team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience building production-grade backend applications.
  • At least 6 years of experience with Java or Kotlin.
  • At least 6 years of experience with the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Data.
  • At least 6 years of experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL or similar SQL databases, including query optimization and schema design.
  • At least 6 years of experience deploying systems to the cloud using GCP, AWS, or Azure, with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • At least 6 years of experience advocating Agile methodologies, TDD, and collaborative development.
  • Preferred experience with event-driven architectures and Pub/Sub, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
  • Preferred familiarity with OpenAPI standards and public-facing RESTful APIs.
  • Preferred experience with Docker and Kubernetes, and interest or background in IoT, telematics, or electric-vehicle data systems.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
