Base Salary
$160k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver scalable, available, and fault-tolerant production applications in Java and Kotlin.
- Design architectures, influence product roadmaps, own new projects, and lead architecture and code-review discussions.
- Develop and debug applications throughout the software lifecycle, including Kafka-based data pipelines, streaming, and performance tuning.
- Integrate with MANTL APIs and build or extend Vue.js frontend features supporting backend-driven work.
- Configure environments, monitor system health with Prometheus and Grafana, and improve observability with OpenTelemetry.
- Investigate production issues, respond to on-call incidents, troubleshoot critical disruptions, and optimize system reliability.
- Mentor developers, lead sprint planning, delegate assignments, and plan complicated technical projects across teams.
- Establish engineering standards, automate service operations, modernize legacy applications, and advance AI-assisted engineering, prompt, and context-engineering practices.
- Collaborate with designers, product owners, customers, and business stakeholders to deliver software products.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of related software development experience, or 8 years with an advanced degree.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Exceptional Java or Kotlin programming skills and experience as a backend-leaning full-stack developer.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, RESTful APIs, Kafka streaming and performance tuning, AWS, Kubernetes, and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for frontend development.
- Experience with microservices architecture, API-first development, the full software development lifecycle, and advanced OpenTelemetry.
- Intermediate SQL database-querying skills and the ability to lead complex cross-functional technical projects.
- Strong analytical, communication, planning, problem-solving, and independent delivery skills.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation of one week per month.
- Preferred qualifications include Maven, Vue.js, Amazon Web Services, and a master’s degree in engineering, technology, or a related field.
