Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Go.
- Build reusable React.js components and front-end features integrated with Go-based APIs.
- Architect scalable, reliable, and observable distributed systems and microservices.
- Design and document REST, gRPC, or GraphQL APIs.
- Optimize APIs, data pipelines, and service-to-service communication.
- Implement code quality, testing, CI/CD, and cloud-native deployment practices.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests across backend and front-end codebases.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, DevOps, frontend teams, and client stakeholders.
- Lead decisions involving system design, data modeling, and infrastructure.
- Apply authentication, authorization, input validation, and secure data-handling practices.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and architectural guidance.
- Troubleshoot production performance bottlenecks and distributed-system failures.
- Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and agile ceremonies.
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks.
- Evaluate AI-assisted development tools and contribute to technical strategy and roadmaps.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on Go development.
- At least 2 years of professional experience building React.js applications, including hooks, state management, and component-driven architecture.
- Experience building microservices and distributed systems at scale.
- Proficiency with REST, gRPC, GraphQL, or event-driven architectures.
- Deep experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching layers, and message queues.
- Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, idiomatic Go code.
- Experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems is preferred.
- Experience with Next.js, Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, and front-end performance optimization is preferred.
- Experience with Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of domain-driven design or clean architecture is preferred.
- Prior consulting or client-facing experience is preferred.
- Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday at the client's Midtown Atlanta office.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who does not require visa sponsorship.
