Responsibilities
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to design, develop, and refine large language and generative models.
- Develop novel algorithms and methodologies for generative modeling using machine learning and NLP expertise.
- Implement, train, and fine-tune LLM and GPT-like models on large-scale datasets.
- Track research advances in language modeling, generative modeling, and machine learning.
- Contribute to foundation models and innovations supporting trustworthy healthcare.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, focused on machine learning, NLP, LLMs, multimodal foundation models, or generative AI.
- Strong theoretical and practical NLP background, including experience with state-of-the-art architectures.
- Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow and NLP and generative AI libraries.
- Strong Python programming skills and ability to write clean, efficient, well-documented code.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred: experience with distributed parallel training and large-scale multimodal foundation and generative models.
- Preferred: familiarity with parameter-efficient tuning, RLHF, and prompt engineering.
- Preferred: familiarity with training multimodal foundation models.
- Preferred: familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deploying large-scale machine learning models in production.
- Preferred: publications or other contributions to machine learning and NLP communities.
- Ph.D. candidates must have completed their classes, be conducting research toward completion of the degree, and be within one year of graduation.
