Responsibilities
- Drive the technical vision for backend solutions powering Wise’s recipient management and user experience.
- Build and scale services for adding, finding, and managing recipients and bank accounts.
- Design, deploy, and maintain clean RESTful APIs.
- Work with relational and non-relational databases, including schema design and query optimization.
- Write testable code, participate in code reviews, and follow test-driven development and coding best practices.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, analysts, and teammates to prioritize customer-focused improvements.
Requirements
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems.
- Several years of knowledge of Java 8 or later.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimization, and schema design.
- Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- A strong product mindset and focus on customer experience and data-driven decision-making.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to clean, testable code, code reviews, and open feedback.
- Preferred experience with Spring Boot and Backend-for-Frontends (BFFs).
